Hal Rifken Productions is a full service production company offering pre-production, production and post-production services. With over 18 years experience producing for most all of the major cable and broadcast networks, Fortune 500 companies and independents, Hal has time-tested experience shooting and producing both domestically and abroad.
Hal Rifken has worked in media production as a writer, producer, director and DP. He has traveled the world on projects that cover a diversity of subjects, from producing a Food Network series highlighting the cuisines of Southeast Asia, documenting thermal energy in Nicaragua for the United Nations, to perennial Olympic coverage for Panasonic Corporation. His corporate work includes assignments for SES Americom, Lotus/IBM, Caterpillar Tractor, Shell Oil, Kohls, Ameriprise Financial, among others. With a background in education, Hal has produced an assortment of projects for childrens' networks, including two years producing all live action for Nickeodeon's popular Blues Clues. He has produced programming related to prevention and public awareness, including parent education, professional development, and social issue documentaries. Recent work includes producing an overview of a premiere outdoor ecological educational program (Echo Hill Outdoor School); for Hagens Recording Studio, he DP'd a comprehensive overview of the Rudolf Steiner-inspired Waldorf Schools (shot in Marin County, California); and for Yappativity Entertainment producer Robin Seiden he filmed an overview of a support program for families coping with loss (Good Grief). Hal has worked for all of the major networks in sports, news and documentary production. His company has a number of social issue and lifestyle-themed projects in development.
